The Chorus

All the people i have lent this to love this movie...its one of those that center around troublesome students and a fictional teacher whos quirksome nature resolves in the students turning ovre a new leaf...BUT...it has the most beautiful casting and music. The story is wonderful and heartbreaking

Into the Wild

This has to be one of the top 10 as well. I was born into the year of Alexander the supertramp and his story is intriguing. The book is amazing but the film brings astounding cinematography, music and depth to the character. Emile hirsche is so versitile and captures the essence of this adventurer completley.

Fight Club

This is one of the few cult classics that lives up to its reputation whether you have been told the story or not. The one movie that i can say vouches for Brad Pitts acting skills. The narrative is everything a cult classic should be...top 10!

Bande A Part

THE Jean Luc Goddard movie to watch! Anna Karenia is wonderfully innocent and both leading men are exceptional. However its not (as with new wave cinema) a character profiling but an objective dark humoured look at relationships and crime. A must must must

Shooting Dogs

The ultimate cast John Hurt & Hugh Dancy! A brilliantly understated movie depicting the civil war in Africa between the hutus and tutsi. The soundtrack blends cinematic orchestra with african artists and powerful enough to move anyone to tears. (Dario Marianelli). The images in this movie will absoloutley haunt you, the cinematography is so naked and real that you find it hard to turn off your tv at the end.

Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

A classic if ever there was & true story. The western for those who dont like westerns. Two loveable criminals on the run with girlfriend in tow.

Breathless

A Bout Des Souffles (Jean Luc Goddard) another starter Goddard. An American girl in Paris (Jean Seabourg) spritley cheeky and between men and the law-fantastic.

Philadelphia

You will always remember the first time you see this- not everyones a tom hanks fan but this is such an incredible story. At the Genesis of AIDS awareness in the states- a story about discrimination at every level and a good fight against it. Alot of the cast actually had AIDS so this movie was very personal to those who made it.
