This is a dark, brooding drama. The first 10 minutes are not a hopeful start but it then changes gear and launches the viewer into a world of fear.

Les Amants Du Pont-Neuf

This is not the happiest of stories and possibly a bit too dark for your first foray into world cinema. It is, however, an excellent film that you should keep in mind for future viewing.

Amelie

This film is probably on every world cinema list on Lovefilm. There's a reason for this, it really is that good. You'll rarely see Paris in a more romantic light.
