The Royal Tenenbaums

This is probably my all time favorite film. i have never seen such great use of music in a film. how it fits SO perfectly with the symmetrical shots he uses. Wes Andersons style is like no other, there is so much i love about this film the narration, the music, how the characters are all so massively deep. it is just perfect.

I Heart Huckabees

it took me a while to get into this film at first i didn't really grasp its point, and i still kind of dont. but its just the fact it made want desperately to understand all of the characters beliefs . i think this is a lot about what this film is about. defiantly mark wallbergs character. which i love his acting is SUPERB in this film. after reading the screenplay i love what its about basically i have come to the conclusion that its about the discombobulation of life.

Brick

this is one of the only films i have been to see at the cinema and was compleatly amazed at how good it was. so much so i told EVERYONE i knew to go see it. this film brings a whole new twist on film noir. the acting by the entire cast is impeccable. especially Joseph Gordon Levitt and Nora Zeheter. its one of those films the first time you see it you are engulfed in the plot. and by the end it gets so intense your 'on the edge of your seat' as they say. it is just SO smooth.

Brazil

now i am a MASSIVE fan of Terry Gilliam and when i saw this it wasn't really the storyline that i loved, to be honest its a bit messy. but the fact that Gilliam has quite obviously used a whole load of inspiration from '1984'and basically just made his own crazy film from it. i love the visuals, the fact that he uses his own obscure camera angles and the creepy music. alot of people say that it was a blatant rip off the book and therefor label the film as terrible. but i don't think that. i think it inspired him, i think Gilliam has enough imagination to create a world that is of a bleak gray future and its not like the story is the same. and basically i love stuff like that i love '1984' and i love brazil. so what if there both the same concept it angers me he got denied to make a harry potter and who knows he may have got denied to make an 1984 movie. so this was the result.

The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen

basically.. 'An account of Baron Munchausen's supposed travels and fantastical experiences with his band of misfits.' Another Gilliam film, but this one is just...urgh SO good! its the kind of film that reminds me of my childhood and i plan to show to my children. its just full of imagination plain silly, crazy. and one of my favorite genres adventure. Robin Williams character is awesome, and there some extremely class actors in this film including the late oliver reed. its a bit dark too in true Gilliam style.

The Fifth Element

this film is like blade runner on candy covered ecstasy. so colorful and even though is nearly ten years old the world that is created is like nothing seen before extremely vast and imaginative. an awesome action/sci fi with the blatant don of action Mr Willis playing a disheveled cab driver thrown into a mission to save the world from total distruction. sounds good huh?!

The Science Of Sleep

i knew even before i saw this film that i would love it. i when i did i was greatly impressed. it is so delicate and nice. the kind of film that makes you warm in your belly. its basically about a man who lives his life in a confusion of dreams and reality. the thing that makes this film unique is the dream sequences Micheal Gondry quite obviously has a massive imagination and doesn't hold back in this like he did in Eternal Sunshine. oh and of course Gael Garcia Bernal is in it. you basically cant go wrong.

Duck Soup

The randomness of this film is classic. Freedonia? i basically just love it because of the immense whit of groucho marx. classic one liners and absolutly amazing sketches one of them being the mirror scene. you just do not get comedy like that now. pure talent.
  • Duck Soup on DVD (1933)

Possibly the most well known of any Marx Brother's films, made during the depression of 1933. Groucho stars as Rufus T Firefly, dictator of mythical Freedonia. Harpo and Chico have been commissioned as spies by Grouchs' rival, Trentino.

Star Wars Trilogy

I am a Star Wars geek so i could go on about this forever. and i know that pretty much most of the world has seen it anyway. so basically. classic story of good versus bad. in space. with lazer swords, space ships that can destroy an entire planet, and 'the force' absolutly bloody epic.
