Dog Day Afternoon

They really did make some cracking stuff in the 70's. My fave Pacino performance.
  • Dog Day Afternoon on DVD (1975)
Starring: Al Pacino,  Charles Durning,  James Broderick
    Director: Sidney Lumet
    Certificate: Certificate: 15
Before Peter Finch was 'mad as hell' in NETWORK, Sidney Lumet's scorching indictment of the American television industry, Al Pacino played an equally ferocious and fed-up bank robber in Lumet's classic film DOG DAY AFTERNOON. Pacino is heartbreakingly real as Sonny, a smart and tough if self-..read more »

Taxi Driver

One of those films that shows how important making something personal is.

Punch-Drunk Love

The funniest film I have ever seen. I don't dare watch it again in case I'm disappointed. Plenty of people hate Adam Sandler, but this definitely isn't an "Adam Sandler comedy". Even though it is.

Blue Collar

Nobody has ever heard of this film, but it was written and directed by the writer of Taxi Driver. And it's from the 70's. Released the same year as Darkness on the Edge of Town actually.

Get Carter

Brutal. Unforgiving. Michael Caine. Set up here.

Psycho

I think it's often forgotten how good Anthony Perkins is in this. Worth it even just for his performance.
  • Psycho on DVD (1960)
