Fight Club

Basically about a bloke who turns from white collar office drone to leader of an underground fighting club and general badass. Dark, disturbing yet funny and witty. The end was TOTALLY suprised me.

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

The best western there is, stylish and uncompromising. Minus all the "american dream" crap. A great film that just happens to be a western.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Vol. 1

This series is the cream of Japanese anime, NOT just your standard giant robots and silly fight scenes. Engaging plot, decent plot twists, likeable characters, gore, violence and adult themes. Half decent english dubs too!

Apocalypse Now Redux

Martin sheen is sent back to Vietnam to take out a renagade general. One of the creepiest surreal takes on the vietnam war, tbh the redux version only adds to it if youre already a fan.

Platoon

Possibly one of the more "realistic" vietnam films out there, some really emotional scenes in this, a variety of characters from likeable to disturbing. Great acting.

The Time Machine

Genuine classic and thought provoking film about a bloke who builds a time machine and travels through time (obviously).

Ghost In The Shell

I know EVERYONE reccomends this but it IS quite good, I personally did not like the sequel and am not overly impressed with stand alone complex.
