Considered to be one of the first documentaries, Flaherty's film looks into the life of Inuit, Nanook, as he and his family struggle to survive. However, much of what's on display was recreation for the camera, and Flaherty's team even taught Nanook et al primitive hunting techniques that they were no longer using. Great cinema, but don't believe it's unembelished!
