Etre Et Avoir

A beautiful documentary about children finding their place in the world and the adults who help prepare them for life after school. Could also be known as "JoJo's Film". The little boy with the paint-stained hands on the dvd cover steals the show!

Three Colours Trilogy

Juliette Binoche is the epitome of style and grace whenever she appears on screen but Three Colours: Blue contains a particularly affecting performance. I cannot recommend this film (and the collection) enough... amazing.

The Chorus

The story is nothing new -- a teacher faces the daunting task of teaching a class of unteachable kids -- but the music is beautiful. An uplifting film.

Hidden

I loved this film. An interesting premise with unrelenting tension. Starring the wonderful Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuill. One of the best films... ever.

The Girl On The Bridge

Daniel Auteuill (again!) and Vanessa Paradis star in this dark comedy. Worth a look for the black and white photography alone.
