The Circle

This IS a masterpiece in construction. Like a complex rubik cube of russian dolls in a model of the solar system with a wonderfully fluid camera following it all.

Blackboards

Another film from Samira. It's a shame that her father's films aren't available apart from Kandahar.

Ten

Kiarostami made this wonderful film for women. Mania Akbari is very talented. This film was so easy to relate to. It's completely universal. Intense.

The Day I Became A Woman

By Samira's mother. Not as good as her husband or daughter(s) but a nice look into the hardships faced by women, with some good rythmic filming.

11/09/01 - September 11

A compilation of short films. Some very moving. Samira has a short on education in Afghanistan.
