George Romero's original flesh eating zombie movie that set the template for a thousand rip-offs. The sequel Dawn Of The Dead generally get's more critical acclaim, but I preferred this. If you're new to the zombie genre watch this before anything else. This version is fine, though there are others with slightly better picture quality and more extras. However avoid the 30th Anniversary edition, it has a different (massively inferior) score and extra scenes shot 30 years later by a different director that just don't fit in.

aka Zombi. George Romero's sequel to Night Of The Living Dead. It's not as grim and nihilistic as the first film and therefore I think slightly inferior. Personally I also think that the whole satire-on-modern-consumerism thing is taken a little too far, but its still a fantastic fun movie and one of the best in the whole zombie genre. This version is the extended cut (not really the director's cut because Romero has stated that he prefers the shorter theatrical cut) and it's still been cut by 0m6s by the BBFC. The UK version of the theatrical cut from Anchor Bay is also cut by the same six seconds and there's apparently a newer UK version of the extended cut that has the missing six seconds reinstated, but neither of these versions are available here. If you intend buying this movie, the best version is the US Anchor Bay 4-disc SE that contains the theatrical cut, the extended cut and a European cut made by Dario Argento, all fully uncut and with plenty of extras.

The third film in George Romero's living dead series and an excellent follow up to Dawn Of The Dead. I still preferred Night Of The Living Dead, but this is just as good as Dawn Of The Dead. Unfortunately this version is cut by 0m34s. There is a newer version that has been released in the UK which is uncut, so try to see that instead.

Day of the Dead, the third and concluding chapter in George Romero's zombie trilogy is the most distinctly 1950s-style science fiction version of the lot. Set in Florida, as the film begins the dead have taken over the world, outnumbering humans 400,000 to one. The handful of surviving humans have ..read more »

The fourth and latest film in George Romero's living dead series. Not the sell-out that some people seem to think it is, but quite a disappointment after the first three films.

aka The Seven Doors Of Death. Lucio Fulci's masterpiece. The non-linear and sometimes illogical plot may put off a lot of people, but this is all about atmosphere and violent set pieces. Let the movie wash over you rather than try to understand it and it becomes one of the most effective pieces of horror ever committed to film. Unfortunately although this version is uncut, it's from Vipco and therefore very poor quality. If you want to own a copy, the US Anchor Bay import is the best option.

aka The Gates Of Hell. Similar in feel to Lucio Fulci's The Beyond but with a more linear plot, though the ending is open to interpretation. Like The Beyond this version is uncut but is another poor quality Vipco offering, so the US Anchor Bay import is the way to go.

aka The House Outside The Cemetery aka Zombie Hell House. Another excellent zombie movie from Lucio Fulci, although this time there's only one real zombie. This version is cut by 0m33s and it's also a poor quality Vipco release, so go for an uncut import.

aka Zombi 2 aka Zombie. An unofficial sequel to Dawn Of The Dead (released as Zombi in Italy) by Lucio Fulci and in my opinion a better movie. This version is cut by around 3 minutes with the eye gouging scene the most significant omission and is of fairly poor quality. However it has also been re-released uncut in the UK by Anchor Bay in their Box Of The Banned 1 box set, but this version isn't available here despite me requesting that it's made available. So if you're going to buy a copy get that one.

aka Zombi 3. Sold as a film by Lucio Fulci, but he had very little to do with this movie due to ill health and it shows. This version is a poor quality Vipco release and although it's not cut, the opening scene is missing, however it's not good enough to go to the trouble of importing a better version unless you are a Fulci completist.

aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie aka Zombi 3. An excellent zombie movie by Jorge Grau that predates Dawn Of The Dead and Zombie Flesh Eaters, even though it one point it was sold as an unofficial sequel to both of them. Highly recommended.
