My new all time favourite, that combines the unbelievable genius of Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver - the actors and movie should have won awards.

My longstanding all time favourite - having significant personal memories for me - but what really does is for me is the beauty of Rachmaninov's tempestuous piano concertos, pure genius.

The Godfather Trilogy - Bonus Disc

Had to add this, a movie I hated when it first came out, maturity has given the ability to see beyond the subject matter to a classic all time movie, with the brilliance of Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and many more, although I have never been a Marlon Brando fan.

Adam's Rib

This movie was way before it's time - Katharine Hepburn (my all time heroine - a very feisty woman with tremendous hidden abilities) in a movie touching upon the subject of women's equality. Although I am not a feminist per se, this certainly did strike a blow for women kind. It is also a great comedy and highly enjoyable movie. Hepburn and Tracy - what a wonderful partnership.

A playful allusion to the Book of Genesis, ADAM'S RIB is an inspired farce and perhaps the best showcase for the fantastic Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn duo. Looking For Richard

Yes, I am an Al Pacino fan, and loved this semi-documentary he made about American actors playing Shakespeare. Many interesting features and interviews brought together around Pacino's performance of Richard the Third - and 10/10 for him taking on a very demanding role with a New Jersey accent and making it work. This is a little gem.

The Merchant Of Venice

More Pacino and Shakespeare, excellent portrayal of Shylock, even with the accent! However, I think I would prefer that to a very phoney English accent! Watch for Jerermy Irons who quite stole the show, and made Shakespeare flow with such ease and passion, the setting in Venice and the music make this one of my all time greats. Beautifful movie in every way.

The Mission

One of the most beautiful and touching movies of it's time - brilliant acting by Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro - stunning cinematography and the most amazingly stirring music of Ennio Morricone combine to make this a truly outstanding movie.

City Of Angels

Nicholas Cage gives a heartbreaking performance in which I can feel his pain - the storyline may be unrealistic but is a certainly very moving. Not many movies can make me cry - this one can! The ultimate love story that cannot be - with a fabulous soundtrack featuring U2, Peter Gabriel, Jim Hendrix and much more...........
