I dont know why I liked this film so much, but I just cant get it out of my head. I watched it about 9 months ago and still think about it constantly and became obsessed with the soundtrack. Its about Japanese school kids, prejudice, bulling etc. but so compelling and stays with you for ages. Nicely shot as well, uses digital media and story/plot structured and set out like no other film I've seen. Id say a hidden treasure!

Just a really easy, nice film to watch. I could easily relate to the characters and the film itself is brilliantly shot and very compelling. Nice intertwined stories about that confusing time!

Brilliant story line, if this was an American blockbuster it would be rated so highly but because its Mexican it slips under the radar. Definitely worth a watch, heartbreaking at points, funny and compelling. Really not corny at all! Brilliant film and love the soundtrack!

I've put this on because its the only studio Ghibli film released on dvd thatâs not been dubbed so technically still classed as foreign! Although not the best Ghilbli film I think its takahataâs best along with Grave of the Fireflies. But check out all the studio Ghibli films, not to be missed. This story is good, give you a good indication of real Japanese life, funny as well!

Brilliant film, how it turn from so funny to so serious and then so sad! I think the terrible dubbing makes it just that bit funnier as well. This is one film not to be missed. Essentially it sounds corny, but its not, you really get lost in the storyline and believe it all.
