The Motorcycle Diaries

BRAZIL Read the book, then watch this. South America looks stunning; big blue skies, huge plains and distant mountains are the backdrop as the two students ride a Norton bike across a continent. Che is such an inspiration, as this film shows.

The 400 Blows

FRANCE - I just love this film. The ending is one of the most profoundly moving you could ever wish for. Based on truffaut's own childhood, this is as good a tale of alienation as you will ever find.

Louis Malle - Au Revoir Les Enfants

FRANCE - A film set in occupied France during World War 2. Based on the directors own life experiences (Louis Malle) - this film is a great history lesson.
