Halo 3

The original Halo is still my favourite game ever but this second sequel runs it close. Multiplayer is good but my main interest is the campaign and I think everything about it is stunningly good.

FIFA 08

EA have really nailed it this year. As Pro Evo gets worse year after year and FIFA gets better, 2008 finally sees it lose it's crown as the best football game available. Excellent gameplay is matched with EAs brilliant range of options and presentation.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

This would be a lot higher on the list without the final level. This is not to say that the final level is that bad but it is just so completely different than the fantastic and engaging gameplay that has gone before. The story is a bit cliche but otherwise its brilliant.

Project Gotham Racing 3

PRG4 is out now so maybe you'd rather get that but considering that you can BUY this for a fiver these days, why bother. I don't think they've really added anything in terms of enjoyment to #4 - this is pure no-holds-barred arcade racing.
