The Host

A monster movie, how could I not resist? Generally, I don't like them but I just could not dislike this movie! One of the biggest stars from the South Korean cinema, Song Kang-ho stars in this film and does so with such authencity. Very humorous at times but may need your tissues handy at the beginning.

The Park family seem to lead a quite ordinary and peaceful life; well, maybe a little poorer than the average Seoul citizens. Prolific director Takashi Miike (AUDITION) keeps finding new ways to test the boundaries of on-screen violence. ICHI THE KILLER is a masterful piece of filmmaking, simultaneously funny and horrific, but it's only for viewers with strong stomachs. One character, Kakihara (Japanese indie film ..read more »

Infernal Affairs

This film was breath-taking in its twists and plots. Tony Leung and Andy Lau play off each other by being moles in the police force and the gang. This film actually tests you and makes you think (unlike the Departed which just hands the whole thing on a platter for you.)

Infernal Affairs III

Infernal Affairs II

Sequels are often a bad thing but this was such a creative sub-ending of the previous film hat had apparently tied up everything I thought but evidently not in this film! Very good runner up to the first film.

A Bittersweet Life

OldBoy

Woah, this was one of my first films where I saw the superb creativity of Park Chan-wook (director), this film had so many twists I struggled to keep up with it, which is a good thing and the ending just linked together all the intriciate things that seemed insignificant at the time. Very much recommended.
