We currently seek an experienced individual to join our growing test environment. In this role you will focus on how the customer interacts with our website with particular focus to the new ‘On Demand’ service. Your focus will be on the customer journey and the various user interfaces that our customers will utilise. The role interacts with business development, system developers, end users, and all other groups involved in project development, testing, or test planning.

You will need experience in both ‘Black Box’ and ‘White Box’ testing, and demonstrable success in a web user experience and customer usability environment. Although not a coding expert, you must have a good grasp of web browser technologies, understanding their limitations and an exposure to ‘unit’ testing. The success of testing activity is generally measured by the number of defects found in operational products post release.

Key Responsibilities:

The core responsibilities will cover the following aspects:

• Creation of test cases for ‘component’ and ‘E2E’ manual testing
• Combined high and low level testing within the On Demand ‘Digital’ team
• Regular regression testing of the specific core features of our website
• Clear communication of defects to the applicable technical team
• Develop and grow knowledge of testing procedures and methodologies
• Working in a high profile team utilising agile methodologies
• Participation in ensuring the quality of the websites and the management of change requests, documentation, and procedures

Skills and experience that are essential for this role:

• At least 3 years experience within a web testing environment or similar role
• Pro-active with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience undertaking test analysis and design whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Proven experience in both web and digital media based testing
• You must be able to work independently whilst maintaining productivity

Skills and experience that are preferred for this role:

• Prior QA experience in an e-commerce environment
• ISEB Foundation in Software Testing qualification
• Experience with bug reporting tools and bug databases eg. Bugzilla, Trac or Fogbugz
• Experience of testing under ‘Agile’ methodologies
• Degree/Qualifications in Computer Science
