ASSASSIN’S CREED RELEASE MARKS FIRST TIE-UP FOR MAJOR GAMES TITLE
LOVEFiLM, Europe’s leading digital entertainment portal has linked with games producer Ubisoft to promote the forthcoming release of the highly anticipated title Assassin’s Creed, launched on PLAYSTATION® 3 and Xbox 360® on November 16th.In the first ever major promotion of a games title through LOVEFiLM, the site will run a multifaceted marketing push for the next generation game, incorporating online, offline and email marketing activity.
As part of the activity, Assassin’s Creed will be featured as title of the week in LOVEFiLM’s weekly Friday e-newsletter, reaching its customer base of over 500,000 households. Additionally, a run of 250,000 specially branded envelopes will be distributed via rental titles in the post – an activity previously reserved for major film releases such as Pirates of the Caribbean - At Worlds End.
Online at LOVEFiLM.com, the game’s main character Altair will be championed on ‘The Collection Section’ of the site, with a fictional list of favourite films. Furthermore, the homepage will run exclusive trailers of the game, as well as promotion of the game through multiple advertising banners and SKYs across the site.
