At the beginning of the year we gave you our Top Tips for 2011, and now that we're half way through the year it's time to reflect on the last six months and choose our five favourite movites of 2011 so far. It's fair to say there are some stand-out winners, but there's plenty of love for the indie festival darling's out there...
"You’ve got to love anyone who can chew tobacco whilst screaming "There’s no crying in baseball!"
"People sometimes forget that before moving onto serious roles Tom Hanks made some great comedy films in the eighties. Turner and Hooch is a favorite with Hanks showing great comic timing opposite a slobbering junkyard dog."
"The Big rap, need I say anymore?!"
"The highest accolade I can give each of these 5 films is that at whatever point I started watching them, I would sit and watch it to the end! The guy is a legend."
"Tom Hanks' performance in Cast Away is amazing - I've never felt so sad about a volleyball. Wiiiiilsoooooon!"
"You’d be hard-pushed to find a better actor than Tom hanks in my opinion. Sorry to say The Money Pit just fell short of my top 5 too – great film. This was a very hard list compile, but yes, Forrest Gump took the number one spot."
"Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get... Unless Tom Hanks is in a film then you just get a hit."
"My favourite Tom Hanks moment was when Forest Gump became friends with Bubba. They had an amazing friendship and in such a short space of time, Bubba had a huge influence on Forest."
"Tom Hanks is the ultimate versatile actor. Romance, drama, action, comedy – he can do them all."
“This is just a placeholder until we have an actual quote.”
