45 year old Welsh farmer Sharon Evans has so many animals to tend to that she's stopped looking after herself. She hasn't updated her wardrobe since the 1980's, has worn the same blue eye-shadow since she was 17 and doesn't own a hairdryer. Add to that a dawn-to-dusk lifestyle of hard labour in the harsh elements, and it's no wonder that even her own mother-in-law thinks she looks several decades older than she actually is. A hundred people who aren't Sharon's mother-in-law weren't a lot kinder: a poll on the streets of Cardiff puts her at 55. Cue a much-needed appearance-audit. Nicky Hambleton-Jones calls in the full cavalry on this one: hairdresser Andrew Barton, mistress of make up Louise Constad even cosmetic dentist Surinder Hundle and cosmetic doctor Patrick Bowler lend their expertise. But it's Jan Stanek's cosmetic surgery that makes the most eye-opening difference: a brow lift, lower eyelid lift and nose realignment is just what the doctor ordered to help Sharon drop a decade. Then it's just down to Nicky to coax Sharon out of her trademark floral body-warmer and into this millennium Standby for one of the most breathtaking transformations of the series.
