Surprising French ThrillerBy lukey27 (21 reviews) from Wolverhampton , 05 Apr 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]If you see a stranger film than 13-Tzameti this year, I would be surprised. This little French thriller is bag of tricks and initially feels like an early David Lynch film as the plot is a complete mystery as a young builder renovating a roof finds himself reduced to desperate measures when his elusive boss dies of an overdose, ending any chance of payment.
The builder finds a letter, with a paid hotel room and train ticket for a job his boss was going to attend, cue inevitable stealing of identity. This takes the central character Sebastien and the audience on a mysterious journey. When the mystery and job is revealed, the plot unfortunately becomes a little formulaic but is still always watchable and shocking.
I would recommend 13 to anyone it is a very interesting, although flawed, little movie.

Beginning better than the end !By Isi07 (2 reviews) , 17 May 2013Such an unusual film, quite unexpected subject which got me hooked straight away. I found the ending quite lame though.
a one offBy esar (16 reviews) , 28 Mar 2013This movie had a very old feel to it, not just the black and white film. Well acted, very original script, minimum conversation, tense and suspenceful.
Two paths witch one would you pick?By Lwilliams783 (3 reviews) , 06 Mar 2013What a amazing film summing up morality! and showing how a world with no rules can change a man, classic Plato's cave in there to!
Unlucky for some but not for the viewer!By badbrain06 (18 reviews) , 15 Feb 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]Interesting film.....original story....perhaps the content was not quite to my taste being that I am female but overall it was great! I personally did not enjoy the fact it was in black and white but this should not put anyone off it as the tension and drama in the film were not dependent on it being in colour by any means! The ending was a bit weak, I thought, but really it made compelling viewing!!!!
Pretty good this film.By BrynboBaggins (1 review) from Sheffield , 31 Jan 2013This is a film with an original plot...OK it's The Deer Hunter gone french beaugois!...but thats not a bad thing. The cast is compelling. The main character gripping. The downfall of this film is that its low budget is sometimes very obvious, but this is world cinema that world cinema fans can't miss.
