Only 3 stars. TV prog. A bit dated. Johnny still good.
I remember come home for weekends from uni and watching this on a Sunday night before I went back. The first series was the best as the delightful Mr Depp is in nearly every scene.
A small teams of police (who look kind of young) work undercover in schools to track down all kinds of bad guys! Some of the cast are little to old looking to be convincing in their roles but it is still entertaining. Actually ended up buying this one and have watched it twice now. Be prepared the next series if it comes out the even more attractive Booker comes along!!!!
TV everybody should give a shot!
Dear me, The Partridge Family go to Police Academy...preposterous premise, a lot of "good buddy" acting, and "look at me, I'm so cute" posturing. Plus an appalingly outdated and intrusive soundtrack - did we really listen to that stuff and like it back then?
On the plus side, a chance to see early Johnny Depp, interesting to see how many of his stock in trade expressions were already there at a young age and amusing to imagine how much he wishes now that this DVD hadn't come out! I make it sound worse than it is - if you want some undemanding US TV - this is it.
Highly entertaining in a cheesy so bad its good way and especially to see Johnny Depps humble beginnings as a do gooder cop sent to the undercover 21 jump street unit. To be honest you only really need to watch one or two episodes to satisfly your curiousity!

classic jonny depp. really cool old show.
check out the 80's clothes
Watched this when I was little and thought it was great. A good laugh if your a Johnny Depp fan. It Dated and corny and boy does it make you cringe.
21 Jump Street is an outstanding 80's drama show starring a young Johnny Depp
jump street = cool-for-cats clothes, back-combed hair, synth-psyched tunes... get out the bryl-cream and settle down with a bag of chips to watch this classic.. i watched it back 2 back, you dig?
later man.
Don't rent this if you're not prepared to have a good laugh at Mr Depp leaping around as the 'All American' Action Man. We found it very amusing and the stories were quite sweet, not too intellectually challenging. Very good for getting over the morning after the night before feeling. Donnie Brasco it ain't!
A MUST SEE for any Johnny Depp fan.
