This really is great viewing. Usually by the 3rd series tv shows have run out of ideas but this series of 24 is justas fresh as its first. Kiefer is back as Jack Bauer and he has just 24 hours to stop a mad man releasing viles containg a deadly virus all around America. He also has a new partner called Chase plus Jack's daughterKim is now workingat CTU. Plenty of tense action along the way to have you on the edge of your seat as you wait to seeif Jack can save the day once again
Having loved the entire series of 24, I thought that this was the last few episodes, but it's only extras for die hard fans - lots to sit through if you like that sort of thing, but the show itself is better!
Season three starts three years after the events of the second season. A Mexican drug lord sits in jail, put there by Jack. His brother arranges to blackmail the US Government with the threat he will release a bio-weapon that will kill millions if they don't release him. Palmer seeks re-election to a second term, with a dodgy chief of staff, and a girlfriend who may not be telling him everything he needs to know. Will Jack survive this day? Or will it be his last...
The biggest strength of 24 is its ability to be unpredictable
If you have not yet seen the program, please go out and watch the DVD's.
More of what youve come to expect, but always manages to tweek it a little different to keep you watching.

Enjoyed season 3, disc 7 is the extras though, don't rent it if your expecting the final episodes to watch the new series.
What can I say - Jack Bauer, swoon! Action, drama, great story lines, wonderful!
Took me ages to watch this as I'd missed it when it was first on TV. Everyone was saying how great it had been and so I avoided it thinking it would be an anti climax. But it's brilliant! Can't get enough of 24 now! Haven't been disappointed in a series of 24 yet!
24 continues to shock and surprise in fine style. The screen writers have a knack for pulling conventional plot ideas out of the bag, only to turn them on their head, sometimes in a matter of minutes.
It could be argued that this series is a little slow to get motoring, but there is a lot of back story to cover (you must have seen the previous two series' and this one takes place three years after the last) and once the plot is in place things accelerate rapidly.
The performances are excellent across the board once again, and although the show can veer close to soap opera territory on occasion they manage to keep it successfully grounded. Kiefer Sutherland deserves particular praise for underplaying scenes a lesser actor might have overcooked.
A daring beginning to a show that refuses to pull a punch and I for one cannot wait to spend the rest of the day with Jack.
You'd have thought that by season 3 it would all have become a bit predictable and yes, Jack still has a crazy temper (made worse by a heroin addiction he picked up on a job), Kim is still incredibly annoying (and now inexplicably works for CTU as some kind of technical whizz) and Palmer is STILL president. The plot this time around is bio-terror and despite initial reservations I again found myself glued to my seat and ended up watching all 4 episodes in one go. I can't wait for DVD 2 to drop through my letter box.
This TV Series keeps you on the edge of your seat, with every twist and turn. Simply put, once you start watching you wont stop as it keeps you glued to the box waiting to see what happens next. No wonder they keep winning top awards for best TV Series year after year. This is very well written and stays fresh every Series.
Please do not be put off by the fact that 24 is striding into it's third season with poor old Jack Bauer still having the worst day of his life! Disc one introduces new charachters and also neatly ties up the loose ends from Season 2. The punchy real time drama effect is not as good as season one, but this is perhaps because as a format it is no longer unique. And for a series set over six discs the good news is that it holds and intensifies its grip on you, the viewer, as the clock ticks away!
