24 fans will love it; others should start with Series 1
By wreeve (60 reviews) from London NW3 , 31 Dec 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I am a huge fan of 24 and if you haven't seen any series then stop reading now, clear 1 hour (that's all it takes to get you hooked) and start with series 1 immediately.
Series 5 lacked some of the things that made series 1 and 2 so good, notably the ability to twist your emotions about a character round 180 degrees; the attempt at interesting female characters; etc. It also - er - lacks my favourite character, and has a little too much 'bureaucracy as evil' plot turns. But it has plenty of thrills/spills, and its cliff-hangers, its villains, its finale are among the very best. 24 fans will be on the well-worn edge of their seats.- Was this review helpful to you?

The best and worst presidents America has never had and a laugh out loud funny moment
By a customer , 14 May 2011What can I say? This one actually had a laugh out loud funny moment in it, which is a first for 24! It was in a scene between Chloe and Bill Buchanan - watch it and see if you agree with me!
I've given this series a lower rating than others I've reviewed because I felt it lacked some of the previous 24 profundity and got a bit slow and boring in discs 3 and 4, but it got going again in true 24 style by disc 5.
The usual theme of power and corruption was prevalent. The most moving bit of the season involved two presidents, both on their way out, in different ways - I won't say any more to spoil it, apart from the fact that I think the writers have shown the American people the best and worst presidents they have never had.- Was this review helpful to you?

loved it but maybe not as much as others
By BillyBedlington (13 reviews) from Derby , 07 Jan 2011Good edge of the seat stuff but I felt some of it was a bit too far fetched - even for Jack Bauer. Audrey's voice grates on me - speak up woman!!! Enjoyed it though, would recommend a viewing.- Was this review helpful to you?
