Missing a little something
By Ben (35 reviews) from Watford , 13 Sep 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Up to now I have been blindingly amazed by the quality of 24, but this one has toned that enthusiasm down a little.
It definitely lost its way on the second half of this series.
I even found myself impatient while watching it and wishing it would end soon.
It's definitely recoverable though!
In fact it has left me hoping they end all this middle-east terrorism stuff, and move onto a different theme.
There's only so many times I can watch the president be voted in or out of power, and only so many times I can watch Jack capture a bomb from terrorists hands after shouting:'Tell me where the bomb is!' to everyone on his way.
It seems they are missing out on opportunities to make thrilling viewing. They are building up great plots only to have them fall flat on their faces.- Was this review helpful to you?

(107)The 24 format is getting a little tired by season 6
By twosoddingcats (222 reviews) from Kingston-upon-Thames , 01 Jan 2012There are only so many times Jack can save the day regarding bomb threats nuclear or otherwise. Only so many times there can be a power struggle at the White House. This season has more on Jack's roots and his family- his dad and brother. Which adds a little something to his character. But I think the producers were right to bow out for good at season 8. You'll see also in the extras DVD in season 6 that the writers have gotten bored with the whole CTU set-up which is why Season 7 is based around the FBI. The writers even admit they were getting bored with things and wanted to shake this up a little. Marisol Nichols is impressive in his season (Nadia Yassir)...and the ensemble White House staff. Still would like to see Bauer eat or take a dump- a long running joke between 24 fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

Powerful, profound, moving and thought-provoking
By a customer , 26 May 2011This is a review of the whole series rather than Disc 6.
Season 6 is better than 5 in my opinion. The plot and sub plots were more powerful, profound and moving than in the previous season. This was chiefly to do with the storyline regarding Jack and his family, the Constitutional and political storyline and that connecting Bill and Karen.
Superb acting and action as usual.- Was this review helpful to you?

24 series
By suicide (9 reviews) from Poole , 17 May 2011Fantastic series - it was better to watch it via DVDs than waiting for it on television. We don't have Sky or the like but someone else used to record it for us- Was this review helpful to you?

Tired of Jack
By Lostinlife (2 reviews) from N London , 19 Aug 2009Used to like Jack - seemed real and did what he had to do - sometimes brutal but always effective... By this series it starts to look like the entire world can't do without Jack. It always seems to be Jack that causes the problems and promises to solve them. As well as that the safest place to be ia apperntly anywhere away from CTU, its people or friends and families... seems like the format is being squeezed dry... best to stop when ahead - now I want to go buy some paint just to watch it dry... both events are just as predictable but the paint serves a purpose and lasts longer- Was this review helpful to you?
