Three Studio Hollywood Shorts

These three film shorts featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Carole Lombard and Ava Gardner would, I think, never appear in any filmography of these actresses. I would imagine that they would have been commisioned by the studios for these contract players and perhaps shown in cinemas before a larger feature to gauge the audiences opinion of the actresses in question.
The best by far was the Elizabeth Taylor piece and that was largely due to the presence of Spencer Tracy who played her father. The basic plot is a father's reluctance to see his daughter, who has recently married, becoming a grown woman with children of her own but ultimately he proves to be a wonderful father much less inclined to interfere in the young peoples lives than the other parents involved.
You would probably only want to rent this if you were an ardent fan of Elizabeth Taylor or Spencer Tracy. The other two shorts I can barely remember anything about, even though I am a huge fan of Ava Gardner.- Was this review helpful to you?
