Watched about ten minutes of it...excruciating....my wife makes an unreserved apology....sorry to take up all your time, because I know how important it is to read proper reviews from intelligent and mature reviewers.
I have to say that the last thing I want to read is some silly little man with time on his hands writing reviews, firstly about films he has never seen and secondly in a childish manner that demeans intellectual prose.
Any proponents of such dark arts should be treated with the utmost dismay and rebuked via the glory of this website.
People, together we can make a difference!!!
The Bigamist is sold as a Joan Fontaine film, but this is really Ida Lupinos show. As far as I know, she was the only woman working regularly as a director in the male-dominated studio system of the 40s and 50s. Hells House is an exposé of conditions in a reform school, with a young Bette Davis and also Pat OBrien in an early role. Individual rating: 1 star. High Voltage is a virtually unwatchable 1929 drama, with over-the-top performances (including Carole Lombard), poor dialogue and static locations. For film historians only. Individual rating: 1 star. Overall: The Bigamist is worth a try; dont bother with the other two...
