1 not a western
2 badly acted
3 russel crowe played a soft outlaw who was sensitive and caring.
4 any action was overcome by the strange story line
The director has completely missed the point here .I saw the original fifties film and this one totally lacks the tense atmosphere and suspense of the original !! It also completely misses out about the moral of the story; a simple farmer takes on a bunch of vicious criminal gang and wins against overwhelming odds to take their leader to justice, and in the process there happens a kind of redemption !
In this version the criminal viciously kills 2 of his innocent wardens as he is being led to the train ,thus completely destroying the point of the story !!
And the 3.10 to Yuma is late !!
When the whole plot is meant to be a build up to this time!! it's a farce and a complete lack of morality !
