  • Reasonable action melodrama with comedy asides and San Francisco locations; but too violent for its own good.

Clever Plot - Very Funny film

Excellent film, which received much deserved praise. It has a perfect mix of fun, humour and action, a light hearted dig at the Buddy Buddy concept that works superbly. The sequel 'Another 48 Hours', whilst certainly a good watchable movie, was not a patch on this one. A Sunday Afternoon Movie to brighten your day after Sunday Lunch. Dont take it seriously, just enjoy a good fun romp - great movie.

    48 Hours

Oddball cop and tough guy, duo work together to catch a killer who is searching for his stash of cash. Cates and Hammond who have the Black-white, cop-crook thing to work out make brilliant good partners as they navigate through the city looking for their suspect. Hammond is only on temporary parole only has 48 hours before he is returned to prison. So funny prepare to have aching ribs through laughing so much. Great Crime Action Comedy!!!! When you’ve watched this get Another 48 Hours.

    Nearly out of time

The most annoying actor in the world EVER Nick Nolte has to get hilarious Eddie Murphy out of Jail to help him solve the case.

Fighting all the way with each other as well as the bad guys. Action and Laughs all the way but Nick Nolte, for me, ruins the whole film.

Eddie Murphy fans go for it!

    Keep it Real!

    PAZAZZ

Eddie murphy gives much needed pazazz and spark to this standard 80's action fare with grumbling Nick Nolte.

    48 Hours

Murphy has other good moments in this movie, and so does Nolte, who gives a wonderful performance as a cynical, irresponsible, and immature cop who's always telling lies to his girlfriend and sneaking a jolt of whiskey out of his personal flask. The two men start out suspicious of each other in this movie and work up to a warm dislike. But eventually, grudgingly, a kind of respect starts to grow.

Good light-hearted entertainment even with the unlikely plot. Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy are superbly cast and keep the movie going at a good pace. Not a classic but thoroughly worth watching.

Murphy, Eddie who is this guy then!!?

This is the movie that started it all off Eddie Murphy and future films like Lethal weapon followed in its suit.

The Buddy love to hate each other but help each other solve a case, in this bad mouthed, funny all action violent fast paced talking thriller.

    Modern classic

When I say modern classic, it depends how high brow you are. Seen it a couple of times now, once when I was a bit younger. Eddie Murphy in a slightly diverse role compared to his usual OTT comedy. Good old eighties combo of violence and comedy, with good on screen banter between Nick Nolty and Eddie
