633 Squadron is a thrillling action adventure. The story of a group of brave RAF pilots on a desperate mission to destroy a dam that would in turn wash away a factory making V2 rockets. When you watch this film you really feel the influence that it had on the ending scene of Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope. After watching this film, it makes you reflect on the real heroes who risked their lives to prevent Britain from being invaded by the Nazis. And it makes you think what world we might be living in today if those brave men hadn't risked their lives to defeat the German war machine, and being successful in their operations which stopped the Germans from taking over the world.
It has a stirring musical score that really puts you in the mood. I think the romance between the main American RAF volunteer and the cute Norwegian girl slows the film down a bit, but it's not in it too much. This film also shows the brave efforts of the various resistances in occupied Europe. And we wouldn't have been able to do a lot of what we did without their valuable help. And in the climactic scene when the Germans are really hammering our boys, you really feel the tension and you think, are they going to do it? A highly guaranteed entertaining film, for fans of the WWII picture. Two thumbs up, give it a watch.
