71 Fragments Of A Chronology Of Chance

Haneke's articulate critique of the isolating effects of western society, the media and television in particular, is composed of an intricate series of unrelated scenes, culminating in an apparently motiveless act of violence. Perfectly paced and executed, Haneke's skilful weaving of these tableaux into a coherent and compelling whole is mesmerising and strangely beautiful.

    Pretty Dull

Having watched Hidden , Funny Games and Code Unknown by Michael Haneke ,I was looking forward to this.

However the best way I can think of describing this film is like watching the proverbial plank warp.

    If you like Haneke...

then you will like 71 fragments. Its clean, realistic and portreys people, time and place from a given era very well. His dramatised 'documentaries' are always enjoyable to watch.
