Most Heart Wrenching War Film Ever!!By JaseEFC (1 review) from Yateley, Hampshire , 22 Mar 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]I have seen them all, all the good and Epic War films from The Longest Day to Saving Private Ryan but I have to say I have never seen a War film like this, if you can get on with the subtitles then this is the tops War film made to date, it had it all, the small comedic parts to try and take your mind away from this being about War to the harrowing scenes of War!! 71 Student Soldiers, no older than 18 holding a School till back up troops arrive, (reminds me of The 300 Spartans) but instead of fighting for Glory these young lads fought and died for their Country. The Director of this film deserves major credit as do the Actors, The Battle scenes are amazing and so realistic. I am not afraid to say it but tears fell down my cheeks in a film that portrayed so much honor and bravery from these young lads. BEST WAR FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!

It alright it does what it says on the tin. Thin story line.By wma (5 reviews) , 21 Oct 2013Its a war movie about a group of student soldiers who hold out till the last man. Normal war stuff. Could only give it 3 stars
Incredible True Story of a Key BattleBy Zydor (268 reviews) from Headley Down , 16 Sep 2013An incredible true story relating the real events when a group of Students massively outnumbered by an Elite North Korean Unit, fought one of the Key Battles of the Korean War and was instrumental in buying time for a Strategic South Korean Counter-Offensive. It is - of course - a little over-played in true Far Eastern Style, but the Thrust of the film is based on real events. Excellent film, and you cant help thinking how such young soldiers - many secondary school age- could do what they did. They were incredibly brave soldiers, achieving a Personal and Strategic miracle ....

WATCH ITBy a customer , 19 Aug 2013This is definitely the best of the 3 Korean films I've seen on the 'forgotten war'. Yes, there are parts where it is obvious(?) that a bit of hype is use but that is easily forgiven by the overall tenure and characterisation. The inclusion of real veterans paying tribute is what finally makes this a truly great film.
A well made tribute to some brave studentsBy TVRandy (132 reviews) , 08 Jul 2013I have been reading a few books about the Korean war recently so when I saw this film I thought I would give it a go. This is the first Korean produced film I have watched.
The film was well made and not was bloody as some war films. The best bit for me was the students being shown to be imature and clueless about war which is to be expected. Worth a good watch if you like war films.
