    Nicholas Cage at his best.

An amazing film, Cage is at his acting best in this violent and harrowing film about a young runaway girl who is killed filming a underground snuff movie after being lured in with the promise of fame. Watching 8MM I felt genuinely sad but also at the same time, utterly thrilled. A must see film, not for the faint-hearted though.

This film is clearly one of Nicolas Cage's best ever!

It really gives him a chance to shine as the superb actor he is, with great scripting and excellent directing. This film is a must see

Best thriller in a long time

This film, although the content and nature of what he is investigating is dark, is an enlightening tale. You are captivated by the story and can feel all the emotions conveyed so well by the actors.

With intense mystery and some great action, the film is a must see and to be honest - a must purchase for your collection.

    Disturbingly good

A very engrosing film. Nic Cage turns in another enthralling performance as a man out of his depth struggling to make the right moral and legal decisions. Some disturbing scenes-nothing overly graphic, but the suggestion of what might be is enough to send chills down the spine. Keeps you gripped from the start to the finish-lots of twists and turns-also a rather disturbing comment on the nature of those who for what ever reasons wear masks-and what it is they are hiding. A brilliant film, but not one that I'd want (or need) to see again-Engrosing.

    Tense thriller

This is a dark film exploring the seedy side of the porn S&M industry. What makes this a better than average film is the acting of Nicholas Cage and Joaquin Phoenix. Cage excels at playing these multi-faceted characters with a light and dark side. In this film he grapples with a mysterious disappearance of an unnamed girl and becomes drawn in against his own interest to find out what became of her. This is a tense thriller and keeps the interest until the end.

If it was a book it would be

Nick Cage in a testing, serious role. The plot grabbed my attention from the word go - 'is this true, did it really happen?' - that is what Nick must find out. A totally plausible film where we are taken on a ride which looks at a seedy side of life. Quite an absorbing film and - if it were a book it would be 'unputdownable'.

    Surprisingly good

Anyone who finds this boring must have a brain the size of a satsuma.

Keeps you gripped throughout although i did find the subject a bit hardcore.

One to rent.Cage is perfect in this role.

    A real weirdo.

    One of a kind

This film is like nothing i'd ever seen before, and deals with a subject we can only pray is a myth. Cage is excellent, harrowing is the word. Stuck with me for quite some time.
