Nicholas Cage at his best.

An amazing film, Cage is at his acting best in this violent and harrowing film about a young runaway girl who is killed filming a underground snuff movie after being lured in with the promise of fame. Watching 8MM I felt genuinely sad but also at the same time, utterly thrilled. A must see film, not for the faint-hearted though.- Was this review helpful to you?

AT THE TIME PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE SAID IT'S ALL FAR FETCHED BUT JUST LOOK AT THE THINGS TECHNOLOGY HAS NOW MADE AVAILABLE - DISTURBED CONTENT LIKE POINTED OUT IN THIS MOVIE IS NOW SPREADING VIRAL ON MOBILE PHONES ETC... AS SICKENING THE MOVIE IS, IT IS WELL PLAYED AND CAN BE SEEN AS INFORMATIVE MATERIAL IN RELATION TO THE DANGERS YOUNG PEOPLE FACE - THOSE WHO ONLY FOLLOW DREAMS AND END UP IN CIRCUMSTANCES ONE CAN ONLY FAIL TO DESCRIBE.....- Was this review helpful to you?

The characters in the film were asking questions - the answers brought them little closure.
But excellent acting and good writing and direction brings humanity into it, which is essential as otherwise it would just be a lurid film.
The soundtrack didn't seem to have much connection to the subject, but I enjoyed it anyway.- Was this review helpful to you?

well crafted good film

Sick but real

The subject matter is real, the drama is real, the acting is believable and whilst it upset me, it was worth watching.
