my 9 year old daughter Bethany loved this film. the story is about three heroic animals who are voiced by Don Ameche, Michael J Fox, and Sally Field. They don't actually speak ie. moving their mouths, but we hear their 'voices' as the lost household pets--Shadow the golden retriever, Chance the bulldog, and Sassy the cat.
Chance, Shadow and Sassy's lives are torn apart, when their owners move into a small apartment, and are forced to leave their pets with a family friend.
the three animals run away from their make do home, in a bid to finding their loving owners, and this film takes you through, all their entertaining, and sometimes tragic adventures.
You'll love Sassy the Cat, as she has all the best lines. Sassy is really bossy and fusses over what she looks like.
Shadow is a rather old fashioned, well behaved kind of dog, and it nearly made my daughter Bethany cry, when he fell down a mine shaft at the railway station.
Chance the bulldog is very funny. his funniest moment is when, he is afraid of the turkey.
my daughter is a real animal lover, and this film pushes all the right buttons, for people who adore animals.
this film is well worth renting out.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Film that will Never get Old
By Eastiling (1 review) , 17 Dec 2012A truly memorable classic that hits me just as hard now as it did when I first saw it as a kid. Bravery, sacrifice and hope with a cheeky blend of comedy all rolled together, if you have kids you must let them see it. Disney got it right. This was just right.- Was this review helpful to you?
