Not the originalBy vrealdeal from West Midlands , 06 Jul 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Although it says 1967 as the year I can tell you that The Plank is not the original one on this DVD.
It was remade in the late 70s early 80s. The original Plank starts off with Eric Sykes and Tommy Cooper but the remake on this DVD is Eric Sykes and some other actor. Also most of the other characters are not the same as the original.
Shame really as the one from 1967 is definitely the best. Why the remake? Surely the original was far superior? Why is the original not released?
Although I am disappointed to find this is not the original, but it is still worth watching.

THE ERIC SYKES COLLECTIONBy stewiegriffin67 (6 reviews) from lowestoft , 31 Aug 2010Fan...Bl*%dy ...tastic. A host of stars join Eric Sykes on this DVD. The Plank & Rhubarb Rhubarb are not the original cinema versions made in the 60's but shorter made for TV versions, but still very funny. Arthur Lowe takes over from Tommy Cooper in this version of the Plank (the original is available for rent) and Bob Todd takes over from Harry Seacombe in Rhubarb Rhubarb. It;s your Move & Mr H is late also feature a wealth of British comedy stars including Spike Milligan, Jimmy Edwards, Hattie Jacques, Frankie Howerd, Brian Murphy, Harry H Corbett and Freddie Starr to name but a small few. The DVD also gives us rare chance to finally see ' If You Go Down To The Woods Today', the only real talking episode on the DVD. If you are able to laugh the you will certainly laugh at these shows, Again, Again, and Again. It is so good that i am going to buy a copy to keep. 1000 out of 10

Not as good as The PlankBy a customer from UK , 25 May 2008Hasn't aged as well as the superb The Plank (available on dvd with It's Your Move), but it's still watchable. The 'B' feature 'Mr H Is Late' is probably the better of the 2 on this dvd.
