an ok horrorBy ohmrdarcy (38 reviews) from Paignton , 24 Mar 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]once I rented this I was looking forward to watching it as I remember watching the scary scarecrow episode of the CW 'Supernatural' series and enjoying it so I thought this would be a good little horror.
The film started pretty well and the use of the corn fields was a good setting for a horror as they always look creepy plus scary scarecrow moving around in them certainly adds to the tension.
I think the problem was that you didn't really care about any of the characters in fact you were willing the scarecrow to gut them basically, the acting was a tad OTT and the script was weak, I just felt that it was one of those films that could have been so much better yet instead ended up as just an ok horror instead of something more.
I think they tried to explain why the scarecrow was doing what it was doing too much and the explanation itself was pretty weak, I think they would have been better just leaving it as freaky scarecrow goes on rampage rather than having to explain why in such a lame way as geeky guy gets visions all of a sudden of what happened blah blah blah
I would say rent if you want to see it don't buy as while the idea for the film is a good one its not well executed.

Nothing like a good horror film.......By PompeymadMarkCoulsdon (13 reviews) , 09 Aug 2012There's nothing like a good horror film - and trust me, this is nothing like a good horror film! A completely uncredible, (not 'incredible') load of 'supernatural' hokum and nonesense.
Lack of direction, poor cast, ridiculous plot, laughable 'scary moments', the list is probably about as endless as I thought this tripe was going to be. We've all read it a thousand times - 'don't waste your time and rental opportunity with this utter bunkum.'
good suspense/horrorBy rastilin (13 reviews) , 23 Jul 2012thought for a low budget horror, it had a good plot, effects were good, not overlong, well worth seeing, bit in vien of the first jeepers creepers, feel to it

Terrible FilmBy a customer from London , 18 Nov 2011Goes along the same lines as Jeepers Creepers only worse. Film makes have no imagination.
Predictable rubbish!By PSC (32 reviews) , 13 Nov 2011The husk is one of those films that sounds good when reading the synopsis (hence the reason I rented it), but is far from it.
All of the 'scares' are scares that you have seen hundreds of times before and are not at all scary. Plus it is not at all believable as for one it is far fetched and the other the acting is awful as well as the characters, who you do not feel anything for. As for a horror I fail to see what is scary about it, awful film.
So be warned, if you have read the synopsis and thought to yourself that Oh that seems good, trust me it isn't.
Stay far away from this as possible.
