Fantastic Modern Vampire MovieBy a customer , 26 Nov 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I saw this film after seeing a music video to one of the songs from the film which was brilliantly edited and had great visuals. The film itself should definitely be watched in German with English subtitles in my opinion as the 'English' version suffers from some dodgy dubbing.
The film is a contemporary tale of a group of female vampires and the dark nocturnal world they inhabit and follows the initiation of a new member of their group.
The film has some truly amazing visuals and a brilliant refreshing take on the genre, the quartet of leading ladies all give great performances especially Karoline Herfurth as the newly initiated Lena and Jennifer Ulrich as the 'life-tired' Charlotte.
Well worth a watch if you like the genre, a great mix of action, fun and alluring vampire nightlife!

Ok, but not greatBy TechnoHippy (105 reviews) , 05 Jul 2013We are the Night is a German vampire film. There are only female vampires in the world, all the males have been hunted down and killed by the women. Interesting, but it wasn't really developed. As with many vampire films it's a love story at it's heart, that in itself wasn't a problem, in fact it was probably the best thing going for it. It's not a terrible film, but it didn't stand out in any way either. It had the feeling of a music video and lacked any appreciable depth. The four vampires were fun to watch in action, but that's about as far as it went. An average film, but if you're looking for some vampire action there are much better films out there.
Get your teeth into it!By LING0 (79 reviews) from Conwy , 10 Jun 2013Blood, gore, violence and lust. All the ingredients for a half decent vampire movie. Good movie, good soundtrack, worth a watch if you like vampires
Hope for the Night 2By Peteob1 (69 reviews) from Leeds , 03 May 2013Very stylish well written and acted. I was a no sympathy mode to start, and ended up feeling for all the characters. Some wonderful 'A**hole gets what they deserve.' paired with angst that really tears at you. Very good, very adult and mature take on the genre. Watch it through, and hope for the night 2
Stylish German vampsBy Wallingcrazy (15 reviews) , 19 Apr 2013Really enjoyed this film, interesting if traditional vampy story, well acted and nicely shot. Ready for 'we are the early hours' maybe ???
Pacy and pyrotechnicBy ChrisHarrison (12 reviews) , 12 Apr 2013A mixed bag of lust and violence. Tall brooding vampire leader, scatterbrained young 'un and quiet bookish type are joined by a street urchin with a similarity to Roony Mara's Lisbeth Salander. The film has pace and pathos and some structure buried in the pyrotechnics and special effects. Don't expect anything deep and meaningful and if you're familiar with tv vampire shows you'll know that every vampire subject has been voraciously hoovered up by the likes of True Blood and the Vampire Diaries; there's little left to say. But We Are the Night is entertaining and has an engaging performance from Karoline Herfurth as the new vamp Lena. Note, the image on the trailer doesn't appear to be from the film, however the trailer video is correct. Oh, and if a title's description says 'language - German' don't be one of those idiots who are surprised when the film turns out to be German and subtitled!
