Pretty, but pointlessBy Gordon Vader Review Master (144 reviews) from Emerald City, oz , 20 May 2013

[Highly rated reviewer]Look some folks loved this movie and respect to them... I didn't, I found it slow and boring... I thought it was trying too hard. To me the metaphors were flawed and the message isn't as clever as it thinks it is. Yes it's mostly very pretty, but I had to fight to stay awake and when the end came I was a bit gutted I had bothered. 2. 5 stars for a distinctly average film..

Very watchable for the artistry - story quite simpleBy LikesFrenchFilms (70 reviews) , 17 Dec 2013The strength of this film is the amazing CGI. Almost every animal is generated, and the processing has come so far that you can't tell. The colours and visual images are stunning. the story is a simple cross between In Which We Serve (lifeboat drama) and Gulliver's Travel (amazing experiences abroad drama). Nothing to write home about but it is still a very watchable film.
Definately worth watchingBy meenoo (2 reviews) , 15 Dec 2013Quite different from the book, which would have been really difficult to accurately depict as we didn't discover that Richard Parker was actually a tiger until well into the book, but still excellent entertainment, with stunning special effects.
waste of timeBy dogsarse (6 reviews) , 11 Dec 2013a pointless boring film thats as exciting as washing socks on laundry day a total waste of time order something else
For the love of a tigerBy Jackdon (7 reviews) from Peterborough , 11 Dec 2013I loved the story behind this film and thought the special effects were good. My husband didn't understand it. Very different from a lot of stuff being churned out now but a beautiful story. The 'carnivorous' island was the only bit that didn't really gel.
Slow, parts were goodBy a customer , 07 Dec 2013I had to fast forward the beginning as it was so repetitively dull and then it brightened up. Not what I had thought, would not recommend it though. Parts were good.
