One bad movie, one great movieBy Daniel Bromley from Kent, England , 18 Aug 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Pure Hell of St. Trinian's: This is where this series of movies starts to go down-hill. Missing Alastair Sim who plays the brilliantly wry headmistress and her brother and with a poor script focusing on the board of directors rather than the actual school, the movie sinks with only a few highlights.
Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery:
With basically all of the original cast missing that appeared in the first movie 8 years prior, you'd think this is a cash-in on the name of St Trinian's but it is in fact a great movie, much better than Pure Hell of St. Trinians. There's no Alastair Sim or Joyce Grenfell but Frankie Howerd makes a great performance as does the whole cast and St Trinian's comes to an end on fine form.
Rent Belles of St. Trinian's and Blue Murder of St. Trinians first then rent these.

Two films on one dvdBy 70saddict (34 reviews) from Cardiff , 29 Apr 2010The copy of Pure Hell of St. Trinian's I received also includes the Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery, which was a surprise and a bonus.
Great stuffBy Lelboy (269 reviews) from East London , 02 Dec 2009This, along with the other St Trinians films, are gems on their own, and need no remakes. Alastair Sim, George Cole and Joyce Grenfell make these films.
