Likeable Old Style Prison CaperBy Cato (772 reviews) from Lydbury North , 05 Oct 2012This was a funny film, but God knows what a modern rendition of it would have been like today. For a start there was no swearing, and no humour that could have been construed as offensive or obscene. In fact all the characters were the archetypal lovable rogues that have always been around in the history of Briish literature and film. The plot was by Clement and La Frenais and therefore very good, and of course Barker and Beckinsale were a great duo as the lags. A very good TV series which was made into a good film.
Porridge Film ReviewBy a customer , 17 Jan 2012You can't help but smile whenever you see anything starring the late, great master of comedy and one half of the 'Two Ronnies', Ronnie Barker playing the loveable rogue Norman Stanley Fletcher in the big screen version of the classic Porridge. Sadly, this film isn't as funny as thought it would be which is a great shame, nontheless it is worth watching, particularly if you are of the age (unlike myself) that remember watching the original TV series in the 1970's.
Great funBy a customer , 25 Oct 2011Great stuff, a must-see for Porridge fans. Well written as you'd expect, highly enjoyable, some of the jokes are hilarious.
