[Highly rated reviewer]This is one of those rare movies that really touch your heart. The actors are wonderful, the little boy even more so...give a try, you won't be sorry!
Great movie, beautifully written, acted and directed.By jennyfilm (14 reviews) from Carmarthen , 28 May 2011Stunning film - I was totally riveted. All the characters were well drawn and beautifully acted so you felt you were there with them. There are some great quirky ones too like the two uncles, so although a very emotional film there are many laugh out loud moments.
Great stuff - I didn't know Diana Keaton directed movies too and didn't realised she'd directed this one until the end when the credits came up - will watch out for her as a director in future as she did a first class job - couldn't have been done better.
QuirkyBy crispin40 (562 reviews) from Stirling, Scotland , 16 Nov 2005Very odd mixture of plot lines - sometimes sad and tear jerking - at other times verging on the farcical.
The cast is good and the music is superb. If you are looking for an odd film that doesn't follow conventional patterns or a blockbuster formula, then this is the one. Wouldn't watch it more than once tho.
don't botherBy thebexter (53 reviews) from Oxted , 10 Nov 2005i found this a very weird film and couldn't get on with it, i even tried watching it on fast forward and still didn't like it.
Unstrung Heroes heroic in the small thingsBy Jude56 from Stoke Gifford , 29 May 2005This has to be an all time classic movie, stylistically brilliant with great use of a limited colour palette to evoke mood and era. The relationships are warm and believable even in their eccentricity.
A film that makes you think as well as making you feel. Definitely one for the collection.
