We need a bigger boatBy JediSi (301 reviews) from Kent , 03 Sep 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]Principally, 'Jaws' is about a huge shark terrorizing a commonly serene coastal town up in the north-eastern United States. After the attacks grow to be more horrifying, repetitive, and was also involving children; a police chief, a somewhat eccentric sailor and a marine biologist set sail to track down the shark. The main difficulty is that they have no idea what they are getting themselves into.
Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider performed outstandingly, but it is Robert Shaw and his representation of the crazy sailor Quint that steals the show. The three characters fail to get along with each other while in the boat, but need each other to survive, since it soon becomes clear that theyve bitten off a little more than tey can chew, and their lives are at stake
Bottom line, this film is incredible. 'Jaws' is THE film to watch before heading out to the beach.

A classic movie that you must see againBy a customer , 19 Oct 2013This is an outstanding, classic movie. The 'we need a bigger boat' and 'its 20 foot...more like 25...and 3 tonnes'...are just brilliant lines. The acting is excellent and the film work is brilliant. There are several examples of cinematography - like the long panning shots - that were not done before this film. The bluray print is excellent. Highly recommended
Sharks are really nasty...By Chas1989 (17 reviews) , 11 Aug 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]Classic movie
The performances are great. Scheider and Dreyfuss are great but they are possibly outshined by Robert Shaw who has some of the best dialogue in the film.
Despite its age, the shark also looks good.
Duh-dum duh-dum dundundundundun...By a customer , 13 Jul 2013I recently visited Martha's Vineyard and so of course I wanted to watch Jaws again. I have seen the film loads of times but never all the way through and certainly not in HD. Great film, you can eat h with all the family. Watch out for the Spielberg shooting-stars in the scenes at sea.
One of the best thrillers in movie historyBy a customer , 05 Jun 2013I saw this movie several times back in the 80s and had fond memories of it, and I thought I'd watch it again with my wife, who hadn't seen it. Would it be as good as I remembered? It was even better than I remembered; 'Jaws' is a masterpiece of a movie!

Do You Like Fish? Well, He Likes You Too...By a customer , 06 May 2013I'll never forget going to the pictures to see 'Jaws'. The tension everyone sensed as the diver went under the water to check the boat..... And the head popped out. Everyone in the picture house jumped up a mile and screamed !!! Even today when watching this scene, it still has a huge effect, even though I know it's going to happen. Brilliant !!!
