This was a poor attempt at comedy and even the comics i usually rate highly like Jimmy Carr and Dawn French failed to get a laugh out of me.
Almost every act that came on spoke about how they didn't want to be there or the audience should feel guilty because their money for their ticket which is going to the tsunami was really being paid back because of the great acts. It was awful.
Johnny Vegas was the most cringeworthy of the night. As usual abusing the crowd and then going into the crowd and snogging one of the women and then messing up another ones hair. He was finally pulled off stage by a guard and Jessica Stevenson, which tried to make it look funny, but it really wasn't.
Derren Brown was the big act of the night but again didn't do anything special. He did guess which hand the coin is in over and over again, boring.
Julian Clary as usual spoke about being gay and cock and arse. Enough already.
Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson had a slanging match, which wasn't at all entertaining and i just sat there thinking, god can this get any worse, i felt like i was at a kids play because it was just so childish and amateur.
Jimmy Carr relied on tried and tested jokes so nothing was new, original or surprising.
God only knows what Dawn French was doing. If she was trying to impersonate someone then i didn't have a clue who it was. She just kept say oh im gorgeous and lovely i am.
After two long hours John Culshaw pops up and finally i manage to laugh, he does do some very good impressions and i think the middle class audience were pleased to have someone who wasn't acting so working class and bloody awful.
They did honestly save the best till last and that was Lee Evans. Hilarious jokes throughout the whole seven or so minutes he was on stage. They must have put him on to erase all the other terrible acts.
There was alos a guy with a guitar(his name evades me though) he was quite funny with a song/poem. Best line was 'The duck lies shredded in a pancake, drowned in the hoisin of your lies.' But i guess you had to listen to him to appreciate it in its context.
Overall, i think this 3 hour long show fell flat on its face. Avoid at all costs.
