Interesting non-horrorBy Janakii from South London , 20 Sep 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]Having enjoyed Hideo Nakata's other films and his great talent at creating an atmosphere of subtle, spine chilling horror (see Dark Water and Ring), we were a little surprised by this film. Not horror, but still worth watching for being different.
SWEET HEARTBREAKING MELODRAMABy GAVINFLEMING (30 reviews) from Edinburgh , 28 Apr 2013Touching modern day fairytale by the Director of Dark Water, this is no horror movie, instead it's an imaginative modern day re-telling of Sleeping Beauty. Heartbreaking ending, with countless imaginative sweet moments along the way this is more in the tradition of Asian emotional melodrama. A must see.
surprisingly touchingBy sachiyoandbuzz (5 reviews) from cheltenham , 22 Jun 2010having read the reviews i was dubious about renting this title but im glad i did the plot was ropey in places but overall the acting and story was well done, without giving anything away this was a sad and emotional film that did actually touch me, if you like romance films you will love this well i enjoyed it but each of us to there own eh? lol
1 word. . .SadBy Soma (18 reviews) from Leeds , 01 Jun 2008A sad film, not very beliveable- but a nice basic story. Wouldn't want to rent/watch again.
lovely...By sickjoke (2 reviews) from Manchester , 12 Nov 2007Beautiful fairytale with a tearjerking ending. Quite different, genre-wise, to Nakata's other movies such as 'Ring' and 'Dark Water', but equally as gripping and effective, storyline wise.
