Touching neo-realist Iranian classicBy a customer from London , 23 Sep 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]Somewhat reminiscent of Iran's own 'White Balloon', this is as child-focused as the neo-realist classics, with the evocative triumphs and tragedies exaggerated suitably in a third world country where the children's helplessness symbolizes a country unable to sustain itself. A simple premise follows a boy who loses his shoes, and the lengths to which he must go to hide the shame of it. Well worth a watch.

quality filmBy a customer , 08 Dec 2013this is a quality film. the story line is so simple yet powerful. it is grounded and real. It captures a really beautiful relationship between the two children and they make the film. definitely worth watching if you enjoy world cinema.
great wee filmBy Robbieglas (6 reviews) , 31 Oct 2013Very sweet film , foreign films just beat American film hands down with simple plots and great acting from the children. I would watch this again.
Sweet moral taleBy StoryeBook (31 reviews) , 20 Oct 2013A very sweet Islamic-type moral tale in which good deeds are rewarded in heaven. Directed with great charm and beauty. I'll remember those kids' smiles for a long time.
Must watchBy betty13 (9 reviews) , 05 Oct 2013Simple clean movie about two kids- it is truly moving in a lot of ways that how for some things like shoes can be such a expensive affair and we, in the west, waste so much- It was a very good movie and I love watching how the locals live- the movie reflects the day to day life of people in Iran which is interesting in itself.
such a good feel good movieBy Tess11 (3 reviews) , 17 Jul 2013This was just such a brilliant and compelling movie. funny, sad at times and the young actors are just so adorable.
