Not worth the wait... :(By Hayley Winnick from Leeds , 05 Sep 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]I'd actually waited about 10 years to see this film, having not being able to get hold of it, and unfortunately I have to say it was a HUGE disappointment, not remotely scary and only one decent display of acting!
Also a little note, some people have been reviewing that they only see half the movie, there's no indication anywhere on the disc but you have to turn it over for the other half :)

Pennywise is greatBy TechnoHippy (103 reviews) , 16 Jun 2013IT is one of my favourite Stephen King novels and this is a pretty good adaptation, except for the end, but we'll get to that. The flashbacks of the childhood memories work best and Pennywise the Clown is an excellent character. Tim Curry plays him well, he's evil and funny and pulls the arms off children. Like most of King's stories it does a great job of portraying strange small towns. The story of the life of the kids with the ups and downs also comes across well. Unfortunately the end boss fight spoils the film somewhat. After Pennywise the reveal is a disappointment. With this the film highlights King's greatest weakness, he can't write endings. Still this is an entertaining film and has some excellent horror moments. By the way, I've seen some complaints that the disk doesn't include the second part (it's a long film), the disk is double sided, so just flip it over for the concluding part.
Dated and Seriously BadBy fivetrax (25 reviews) from Hull , 25 Mar 2013Ignore the trailer, it gives you false hope that this is going to be a great scarey movie! How Mr King keeps getting away with churning out tripe is beyond me. IT is only half the title.....the other half is SH.
little bit tameBy a customer , 18 Mar 2013Watched this years ago but couldnt really remember it apart from the classic stephen king stupid ending!!!Yes pennywise is creepy and the story telling is good(it has to be for you to sit through three hours!)but it is a little dated. The book is much grittier and adult-to be fair by todays standard this could pass as a PG. Maybe someone should remake it with all the 'adult' bits put in. Ok for a lazy sunday afternoon watch.
Very good watch.By Whoflungdung74 (30 reviews) , 12 Sep 2012Well, i watched this as a kid and it scared the hell out of me and not been able to go near clowns since. Watched as an adult, & still hate clowns. Good film, bit wierd but well done. The problem as always with Stephen King films is that they can't adapt them for tv properly from the books, as you don't (can't) get the full in-depth feeling of how the kids etc feel whilst this is going on. Tim Curry is brill, worth a watch but not if you're scared of clowns.
