Identity Crisis !!By SiWri1 (2 reviews) from Gosport , 05 Jul 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]This movie would have been an excellent opportunity if made by the British in a 'full Monty' style. Unfortunately it has been bungled royally by the Americans, whose intolerance for nudity and sex (remember the debacle of the 'eyes wide shut' digital makeover, CGI was used to cover any nudity in the orgy scene of the US version) is bewildering when considering their apathy on the subject of controlling screen violence.
I get the feeling they have tried to make an almost family friendly movie with no bad language and the sort of one dimensional character found in the poorest children's movies. Though perhaps the subject of producing a porno movie and all that entails is not the sort of flick I think mums and dads are going to want to sit down and watch with the kids.

Wastes A Usually Very Talented CastBy a customer , 09 Apr 2012'The Moguls' also known as 'The Amateurs', is an extremely unfunny sex comedy that totally wastes a usually very talented cast.
I've awarded 'The Moguls' half a star, only because it is not possible to award it any less.
This film is 93 minutes long and by the time it had reached the end titles, I knew that it was 93 minutes of my life, which I wasn't going to get back !!!
Too folksy by farBy a customer from Bristol , 26 Apr 2009I rented this because I love Jeff Bridges.
But my affections are waning because he keeps playing these cutesy off beat but lovable characters and it's turning my stomach.
A good cast completely wasted.
The MogulsBy Kela23 (640 reviews) from Wickford, Essex , 06 Apr 2009When the film first started I wasn't very optimistic that I would enjoy it but as it went on it settled into a very light hearted comedy.
Jeff Bridges was very good as were the supporting cast. The subject matter pretty much guaranteed it would be funny and I did laugh out loud a couple of times.
Worth watchingBy a customer from Bromsgrove , 09 Jan 2009This feels so true to life. You could imagine you and your mates getting together to make a porno film themselves to try and earn a bit of cash.
Bridges at his bestBy Whipster (663 reviews) from Shropshire , 26 Aug 2008Jeff Bridges is absolutely superb as the lead character in this bittersweet snapshot of a group of friends in small-town America. The whole cast are, without exception, excellent. Its a minor story about the group's efforts to make money - the latest scheme being the production of an amateur porno movie! In some ways this has moments not disimilar to those found in the Big Lebowski, but it's not as edgy. If you like gentle comedies with an unusual twist you'll love this. Recommended.
