Great from start to finishBy a customer from North Lincs, England , 28 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]This film had a great storyline from start to finish and you never knew what was going to happen next. Will Smith plays a very good part in it and hes funny too by the comments he makes. Its just the ending that just abit strange but apart from this then this is a film that you must see. 4 out 5

Topical thrillerBy TechnoHippy (108 reviews) , 23 Jun 2013A fun thriller that I haven't watched in years. Everyone involved puts in good performance, but Gene Hackman makes it as he generally does. Will Smith is pretty good in this as well. It's about a lawyer (Will Smith) who accidentally receives a tape that shows the murder of a congressmen. It looks at electronic surveillance, which is appropriate considering the news at the moment :-) It's well filmed and an entertaining watch. The story is well paced and builds to an excellent climax. It's also a bit of a who's who for actors, there quite a few known names in there doing bit parts. Great fun to watch and probably one of Will Smith's better films.
Just a non stop action festBy The KnightWatcher (629 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 27 Mar 2013A plot about US goverment agents using state of the art surveillance technology to pursue and frame an innocent lawyer (Will Smith) to try to cover up a murder they have committed. A bonanza of fanciful technology and a fantasy about how effcient it all is and reliable. It all makes for a non stop technology fest action movie but there is no real depth to this film. I am quite sure that real life is nothing like this and non stop wham bam action is not a substitute for character development and substance. i liked it at first but oh how repetitive it is and in the end i had to fast forward long sequences of it as it was just so long and non stop action that just became tedious. Gene Hackman is always excellent of course but his contribution was not designed to use his full talent. Not sure why they bothered paying his fee as anyone could have done his part. I know there are many who are satisfied with just continuous action and special effects but a movie must offer more than that for me to enjoy it.

Good story and easy to watchBy chyk (64 reviews) from Neston , 14 Aug 2012Good fast moving story although some parts aren't that good from a direction perspective. Typically American but that's not overdone in this film.
Worth watchingBy LawH61 (19 reviews) , 12 Feb 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Excellent dramatic and entertaining story which makes you think about how much is known about anyone by the state. Some big names star in this truly American story.
