Erotic Gladiator Movie...well no, it isn't!By a customer from Manchester, England , 18 Apr 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]Read the introduction and you'll think of other Pam Grier movies and know how this film works. Captured and sexually abused, these girls fight for freedom...as they all are. But, this film seems to be a poor version of this story. Yes the basic story is the same, but except for Miss Grier, the rest of the actresses really aren't that attractive. The erotic scenes (if you can call them that!), very rarely arrive and more focus seems to be on the fighting abilities of these women, which don't exist. To me, if you make a film look at the strengths and work to it. Therefore, if you have a crap script, little money for effects and backgrounds, actresses of limited ability, but willing to remove their clothes on a regular basis, then use them appropriately.

Roman variant on the girls in prison filmBy Rich (219 reviews) from London , 05 Jun 2008Solid and enjoyable gladiator film with a young Pam Grier. Interesting enough plot is fairly well realised - it's certainly miles better than Russell Crowe's rubbish effort.

Low low budgetBy Cliff from Nottingham , 03 Nov 2005Although this is a 'historical' story it still is very dated and typical of low budget 70's b movies. Acting as usual terrible, and the fight scenes unconvincing. Very little plot certainly didn't keep me interested, good job its not too long. Fair amount of nudity thrown in to try to boost things. I don't like to say this is the worst film ever, it isn't. But hasn't got alot going for it. If you are a die hard fan of this sort of thing then rent out of curiosity, I must say I am but this doesn't deliver. Although I didn't feel totally cheated out of the £1.99 rental cost.
