(6)not really so bad, touching and funny at points,
By fengzi (11 reviews) from Durham , 14 Nov 2011over all the plot was slightly convoluted and took a while to get going. In the end it became a genuinely touching storey- Was this review helpful to you?

Not very good
By a customer from Leeds , 29 Jun 2006Have been watching Korean movies for several years years.
I would place this film towards the bottom of the pile, as it is just not funny at all.
The plot is fairly simple, but the scenes jump between the past and present quite often, and sometimes causes confusion.
After watching the first 10 minutes or so, I had an feeling that it might be a waste of my time. I perservered anyway, hoping that it'll improve. But in the end, I just thought it was a complete waste of 90 minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Flawed but I liked it
By Anna Barwell from Sheffield , 06 Mar 2006The story follows 2 girls who were friends at school. Kuem-Sook had a crush on Eun-Hee but it was unrequited. Kuem-Sook ends up in prison for assault and Eun-Hee marries a rich comedian, Doo-Chan, but is unfulfilled. After Kuem-Sook is released they begin an affair and when Doo-Chan finds out, their lives become very complicated.
I rented this because I'm a big fan of Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy etc.) who co-wrote this, although it's not much like any of his other films (and a lot less violent). Although if you've seen the Vengeance trilogy and are looking for his earlier work I would recommend JSA and Humanist over this.
All in all, I thought this film was kind of amusing but quite strange (particularly the scenes on the Moon). The plot had some nice turns although some scenes don't entirely work. Not a bad way to spend an hour and half though.- Was this review helpful to you?
