A Christmas Carol is the classic retelling of Ebenezer Scrooge (George C. Scott), a timeless tale of humanity, redemption and love, against a backdrop of Victorian England. But no matter where you're from, it all has meaning. This is a brilliant adaptation, with great writing and directing, and marvellous acting. The sets are all realistic and the costumes help create a convincing illusion.
Even though George C. Scott was American, he really becomes one with his character, showing the complexity of Ebenezer Scrooge, a man who acts angry, and sinister, but all to hide a deep emotional pain, really learning the meaning of humanity.
This was a brilliant film to watch at Christmas. I sat down and watched it with my mum and younger brothers who had some difficulty understanding some of the themes, but still enjoyed it. This is essential Christmas viewing, and I would recommend it highly. Definitely watch this, and a Bah Humbug to you if you don't!
